STANDING COMMITTEES
PLEASE CHECK EACH COMMITTEE FOR INFORMATION

Local Union Standing committees are the tools through which the policies and programs aimed at strengthening our union are put to work. These committees support UAW members by implementing activities that further the social, economic and political goals of the UAW.

Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy committee provides caring in the work place and assists all employees regardless of religion in a time of need be it death, sickness,or just someone to talk to.


Citizenship and Legislation/CAP

The CAP committee helps with voter registration, endorsing labor friendly candidates, organize volunteers, encourage political education and activism.


Civil Rights

The Civil Rights committee fufills the local union's commitment to assure all members' rights regardless of religion, race, creed, color, sex, political affiliation, national origin, age, sexual orientation, or handicap.


Community Services

The Community Services committee has the task of providing help for members and their families in time of need.


Conservation and Recreation

The Conservation and Recreation committee has 2 parts. The Conservation part deals with environmental issues; clean air, maintaining parks, roadway beautification. The Recreation part coordinates activities to combat stress and promote family time.


Consumer Affairs

The Consumer Affairs committee educates and informs the members on issues such as; truth in lending, consumer fraud, child labor and utilities.


Constitution and Bylaws

The Constitution and Bylaws committee establishes the bylaws by which the local shall operate. As well as ensuring these rules are in compliance with the International Constitution.


Education

The Education committee provides classes, material and information based on needs of the membership. They promote union involvement, develop skills, and motivate our leaders and members.


Union Label

The Union Label committee helps to emphasize the importance of supporting and buying products made by union labor.


Veterans

The Veterans committee represents the interests of all active and retired UAW veterans and their families.

Womens' Committee

The Womens' committee is to educate the women of the local union and to inform all members of labor's position on local, state, and national laws regarding women and family issues, and to further the gains of women in the workplace and throughout society.


Communications

The Communications committee is dedicated to providing various forms of communication to benefit our members and their community.
